BREAK

So this will be the last post for a little while as we are off to have big adventures. We are leaving the girls with the grandparents Haddens (hopefully the girls will be their adorable angelic selves and not their terrible two tantrum alter egos). D and I are then off to a wedding (the previously mentioned Chicken is getting married) and then we are going to have our belated 10 year anniversary trip. So wish us well...I am pretty sure I will be a blubbering mess when the realization hits that I won't see the girls for over a week! Hopefully the sun and fruity drinks will remedy that!

18 Months

The girls are officially over a year and a half!! We had our 18 month check-up yesterday. The appointment went great. The doctor was super impressed with their behavior during the examination...no crying or squirming at all! My mom is here visiting and she is our witness at just how perfect they were. He said that all looks good. We are continuing to monitor Audrey's head (went to derm on Tuesday and said that it looks like it is healing well and to come back in 6 months and hopefully be done with all of that!) and her wide cowgirl walking stance (I seem to be the only one worried about that). They got their 2 immunizations which went fairly well...sippy cups to the rescue to stop the tears!

Two cute new tricks: they love to walk backwards and they love to cross their arms over their chest (this is usually Brooke and it is done with quite a dramatic flair)

Audrey's stats:
height: 32.25 inches almost 75th percentile
weight: 23 lbs 8 oz almost 50th percentile (huge jump from 15 months when she was at the 10th percentile)
head: 45.72 cm 25th percentile
(I do not think that the heights are accurate as Brooke appears to be more than one inch taller than Audrey)
Brooke's stats:
height: 33.25 inches 90th percentile
weight: 26 lbs 8 oz just over 75th percentile
head: 46.99 cm between 50th and 75th percentile

Daddy's Home

Here is a video of the reception that D gets each day when he comes home from work. The girls are little creatures of habit and are very insistent that he immediately go downstairs (to our bedroom...yes we live in the basement) so that he can change his clothes. They love to go down with him and help him as he gets undressed by putting his shoes in the closet and shirt in the dry cleaners stack. Then they are very insistent that he go complete the routine by going into the bathroom....they love to accompany either of us to the potty and insist that they have a square of toilet tissue to flush and say bye bye to. There is a theme...the girls are quite insistent!!

Do not be concerned...the video ends when D goes down the steps.

Audrey with the cutest hair in the world!
Brooke about to moon Audrey...we are so proud!

Eating Five Guys Burgers (my fav food in VA) at the mall....I cannot emphasize how messy the girls were by the end of this meal!

Slide

This past week it was super hot on Mon and Tues and then it has basically rained every day since then. So we got out the inside slide again and the girls LOVED it. Here is a video from the day we got it back out. I will preface by saying that the room is a mess (end of the day) and Audrey is not wearing any pants cause I was doing laundry (she only has a couple of pairs of jeans that currently fit her!). Brooke has gotten much better at getting her feet around at the top...she now gets up like Audrey. If you listen you can also hear how I have been brainwashing the girls!
