Hair Cuts

Since not everyone is on FB...

This week I decided that the girls really needed haircuts. I have pretty much been talking about getting them cut since about mid-May. We were at the mall for a playgroup and I mentioned to the girls that we might get haircuts. Well, Brooke jumped on that and pretty much insisted that we go. She just kept repeating hair and patting her hair.

We went to Cartoon Cuts which basically only does little kid cuts. The girls sat on my lap, one at a time, for their cuts. There was no crying at all!! The biggest challenge was just trying to get Brooke to look down so that the lady could even out the back.

They look super cute with their new little cuts. As D says, it finally looks like they have a style.

Lots of Swimming

Recently, we had a swimming playdate at our friend Leslie's neighborhood pool. The pool was super nice and had a huge baby pool. The girls all seemed to have fun.

Having fun in (and around) the pool!

The usual suspects: Brooke, Haley, Ellie, Audrey, and Lorelei

Here is a video of us at our pool this past weekend....which is still quite cool even in August! The girls LOVE to swim and D LOVES to jump off the diving board.

Zoo

A few weekends ago we took the girls to the zoo. They LOVED it!! They got so excited every time they saw an animal. Their favorites were definitely the gorillas (though they seemed a little perplexed why they were not constantly thumping their chests). There were 5 adult gorillas and one baby gorilla and they were all out moving about and easy to see. Their other favorites were all the little animals in the small mammal house - shrew, little monkeys, meerkats, etc. They would just squeal with delight up against the glass and then demand more more more. Unfortunately we did not get that many pictures, but here are what we have:

Photo Shoot at the Beach

Well every time we go to the beach, I insist that we do a family photo shoot at the beach. I am always convinced that we can get the perfect family shot - ready for the Christmas card. Alas, no such perfection from the two trips. However, here are some of the better pictures from the most recent shoot:

Head to Toe

We have been reading the Eric Carle book Head to Toe (thanks to our friend Leslie P who introduced it to us!) and we think that our girls are the cutest things ever. So I took a video of them to share. Seriously they are just so cute!

Favorite Beach Pictures

I have done my first run through of editing the beach pictures...I am an addict and take WAY too many pictures, though on this trip I don't think that I got as many cute ones as the last.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

BACK FROM THE BEACH

We are back from our second family beach trip. This time with D's fam to Hilton Head, SC. We had super amounts of fun...the weather was great and the girls really seemed to like the beach. We spent tons of time digging in the sand and going back and forth to the water with buckets.

Audrey started jumping on the trip...adorable! She actually gets both feet off the ground. I am convinced that she is very advanced, but I am not going to look it up so that I can continue in my ignorance. Audrey also must have set some sort of record for the most "uh-oh"s said over a period of one week. One day we tried to count, but were at 20 and were not even through with breakfast.

Brooke got very good at filling up the little sand castle molds. She would shovel the sand in and then pat it down until the mold was full. Then she would dump it over. It was very impressive (in my unbiased opinion). Brooke was also very interested in her cousin Baby Paul, who is just over 4 months old. She was constantly looking for the baby.

Both girls were super cute as they would flap their arms to show how the pelicans would fly.

I am sure that there are other things, but for now that is all I can think of. And unfortunately my camera just ran out of battery while downloading the pics and I must now start again! So next post will have lots of adorable pictures of the girls.
